Absa sabotages labour case of ex-worker through their money
It has come under the attention of the EFF Western Cape that the financial muscle of ABSA is putting them in pole position with the Labour Court case against them which centres on lack of transformation.
The case will be heard in the Western Cape Labour Court on 5 to 9 March 2018.
ABSA wants the complainant to deposit the expenses for complainant’s witnesses into their account, knowing very well that these expenses can run well into tens of thousands of rands.
Notwithstanding the fact that the Judiciary undertook to reimburse the witnesses, ABSA still wants these monies to be deposited to them as the witnesses are in the employ of ABSA.
The EFF wants to warn ABSA to stop this unacceptable behaviour immediately and allow the processes to unfold naturally as expected from a country where the upholding and access to the Judiciary is paramount.
