Eff on the roll towards improving education challenges in western cape.
The EFF in the Western Cape has embarked on a project to improve structural, social and academic challenges in the Western Cape Education sphere.
Under the leadership of Provincial Chairperson, Bernard Joseph and Provincial Secretary, Melikhaya Xego, all Councillors of the EFF and members of the Provincial Command Team have been directed to visit at least 3 schools per day as from 11/01/2017 until 13/01/2017.
The purpose is to assess the social conditions, structural defects and academic challenges learners and teachers in previously disadvantaged schools face, which has a detrimental effect in providing an acceptable pass rate in especially subjects like Mathematics and Science.
Bernard Joseph mentioned too that more emphasis have to be placed on motivating learners to read which is hampered by non- existent or under stocked libraries.
All EFF Councillors and the Provincial leadership must submit a report to their Provincial Office after which an assessment will be made and intervention in consultation with school principles, teachers,school governing bodies and learners implemented.
The EFF Provincial Chairperson and Provincial Secretary will visit the following schools as per attachment.
